The Finchley Vet, located in Barnet, Greater London, has established itself as a reputable veterinary clinic with a commendable overall rating of 4.7 stars from 207 reviews. This high rating is indicative of strong customer satisfaction and reliability, given the substantial number of reviews. The clinic is also a training facility for veterinary nurses, contributing to its professional environment.
Customer feedback highlights the clinic's strengths in delivering warm, friendly, and professional services. Multiple reviewers, including Anna Konova and Vikki Hall, praise the staff's welcoming nature and the vets' clear communication, which contributes to a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. The clinic is noted for its cleanliness, organization, and the compassionate care provided by its team.
A standout feature of The Finchley Vet is the personalized attention and thorough explanations offered by the veterinary professionals, which is consistently mentioned by satisfied clients like Olya Lobacheva and Natalia Kondratyeva. These reviews emphasize the clinic's commitment to necessary and honest care, with no inclination towards recommending unnecessary procedures, thereby maintaining trust and transparency with pet owners.
However, a dissenting voice from Laura Mace raises concerns about the clinic's treatment recommendations and overall approach to animal welfare, suggesting a need for prospective clients to consider second opinions if necessary.

Pricing is noted to be on the higher side, but many clients find the quality of care to be well worth the cost.

I would urge pet owners to think carefully before using this practice. On three separate occasions I was advised to pursue procedures for my dogs that later proved unnecessary — second opinions elsewhere gave far less aggressive treatment with better outcomes. This left me questioning whether the advice here was truly in my dogs’ best interests. When the head vet handled my elderly dog, who was small and a bit snappy when frightened, he seemed unsure and even scared himself. It did not inspire confidence and left me feeling I was dealing with someone inexperienced. More recently, when I first brought home my rescue dog from abroad, the vet we saw was kind but frightened us into believing she might have a serious disease called Brucellosis and insisted we delay her spay for further blood tests. It was a very upsetting experience, and thank goodness we sought a second opinion — my dog is completely healthy, happy, and thriving, and her wellbeing has always come first with the new vet I now trust. Even in small interactions, I often felt unwelcome at this practice. When I stopped by to weigh my dog, I was treated as though I was asking for something I hadn’t “paid for,” which was unnecessary and off-putting. Finally, a huge red flag: I was told by a friend that this practice refused to scan a stray dog for a microchip, turning away both the animal and the person who had kindly taken it in. Another vet welcomed her, scanned the dog without question, and thanked her for her compassion. In my experience, this practice does not make animal welfare its priority, and I cannot recommend them. I now travel further to a different vet, where I always feel welcomed and know my pets are genuinely cared for.

This was my first time visiting finchley Vets, and I was genuinely impressed. From the moment I walked in, the staff were welcoming and made both me and my pet feel at ease. The vet took the time to explain everything clearly and answered all of my questions without rushing. You can really tell they care about animals and their well-being. The clinic was clean, calm, and organized, which made the whole experience stress-free. I’m so glad I chose this clinic – we’ll definitely be coming back!

I've had a truly excellent experience with the Finchley Vet. The quality of service is outstanding — the entire team is professional, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. The vets are incredibly kind and clearly care deeply about the pets they treat. Both of my cats have undergone dental procedures here, and one also had to have a biopsy — everything went smoothly, and they were in great hands throughout. The vets kept me informed at every stage, calling with updates and making sure I felt reassured while my pets were in their care. One of the things I appreciated most was that they only recommend what's truly necessary — no unnecessary checks or procedures, just honest, straightforward care. Yes, the services can be a bit costly, but the level of professionalism, compassion, and communication makes it completely worth it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Finchley Vet to anyone looking for high-quality veterinary care. Thank you! 🙏

This is a fantastic clinic that I now recommend to everyone. The whole team is amazing—friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. We’ve seen both Dr Rebecca and Dr Oli so far, and they’ve each been brilliant: kind, caring, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. From our very first visit, my cat and I felt completely at ease—we knew we were in the right place and in truly good hands. It’s such a relief to have a vet we trust, and even more so to see my cat treated with such gentle care and respect. I’m really grateful to have found them.
